The voice synthesis engine has already become more than a simple tool — it's a wonderful instrument, and a character beloved by many. But we believe that for a long time, within the boundaries of "Vocaloid," music has tended to be consumed with the character's image and fandom culture taking priority over the music itself. It's been disappointing to see songs with real musical merit get boxed in by the subculture label. The music scene lately seems to be drifting toward forms optimized for flashy visuals and virality. That's certainly one way to enjoy music, but it means the thought put into the music itself, and a creator's own unique voice, can get buried under view counts. What's saddest is that, in this environment, the historical record of the music itself is fading. When view counts become the only real metric — with no systematic genre classification or reviews — it gets harder for producers to hold onto their own identity, and listeners lose the chance to explore their own taste. For amateur Vocaloid producers especially, having to make an MV can feel like a brutal barrier to entry. It's been disheartening to watch the scene's history evaporate and fragment for reasons like these. This place was created because we recognized these problems, and because we wanted to dig up and record the value these songs hold. We also hope it can become a base where old prejudices are set aside and we can speak with the wider scene as equals. We aim for the kind of free activity where we can directly fill in what feels missing from the current Vocaloid scene. This isn't a place that demands difficult, professional-grade criticism. It's an archive for writing, in your own words, about what genre or sound a song has — or simply about how some part of a track moved you. The guidelines here are nothing more than the bare minimum needed for us to talk about music more deeply and thoughtfully. As long as the music we share stays at the center, we're confident that even a single short line of impression can be the most valuable piece of criticism here. We hope you'll share the music that moved you — even if it got swept past by trends and overlooked.
